Sophie has enough problems in her life without Spencer turning her blood to fire, without his eyes freezing and burning her, without his hatred of her. Since his migration into the house next to hers, Sophia Valdez isn’t sure whether she wants to toss him under a bus or kiss that smirking mouth of his. But even as the temperature rises around them, leaping flames of passion, want and desire,
everything either has ever known will be
shattered by the lurking shadow hounding their every step, wanting revenge.

Spencer Rowth moves to the sleepy town of River Port with his mother and twelve year old sister, Suzy, to escape a deceitful father, an unfaithful girlfriend and a life crumbling much too fast for him to grapple onto only to be smacked upside the head by the
last thing he wanted again. Sophie was everything he refused to want. Her temper, her wit, her laugh, her smile, the way her entire body goes up in flames under his hands are things he would rather slam a lid on and forget. Instead, he finds himself falling for the smart-mouth next door. But how long will he have before the evil chasing them catches up? How long before the very thing he never wanted becomes his only thread to sanity? And who is after them? What do they want and why do they want Spencer and Sophie dead?

I was given the opportunity to read Games of Fire by Airicka Phoenix herself and let me tell you everything this woman writes one ups her book prior and Games of Fire did NOT disappoint. I tried so hard to stay up all night to read this book the first night as exhausted as I was. That led to smacking myself in the face with my kindle but it was worth it, I woke back up and I was wide awake for more! I seriously did not want to set it down!! At times Sophie was just a normal 17yr old with teenage problems day dreaming about boys.... (and the way those boys were described I was day dreaming myself!) throughout Games of Fire I was making mental notes and trying to unravel the story in my mind which was not working.Airicka has you hanging from page to page word to word wanting to know what happens next and after that and after that!! Sophie has to deal with so many emotions and then is blind sided by a feeling from someone that she has never felt for in that way plus she has some pretty serious feelings for another..... and her friends Lauren and Jessie are the BEST! Lauren is everything I want in a best friend she doesn't take no crap from no one and her point system is hysterical! And then there is Joe one of Sophie's best friends from kindergarten he has is own family issues but he is and always had been there for Sophie and Lauren and Jessie. Things get rocky for Sophie more then once and you go up and down with her but its so worth the ticket to take that ride! As always I am looking forward to Ms. Phoenix's next book.
