Body to Science. Check.
When seventeen-year-old Kaitlyn checked the box, she never suspected she’d have her life–and her body–stolen from her. She awakens one day in a secret laboratory to discover that her body is now half-robot and is forced to hide her own secret: that she still has human emotions and a human mind. If the scientists who made her find out, they’ll erase what remains of who she was.
Kaitlyn finds an unlikely ally in Lucas, a handsome, brilliant scientist who can’t get over the guilt he feels knowing she was once a vibrant, beautiful young woman. He never expected a science project to affect him the way she does. As he tries to help her rediscover her past, he finds himself falling for the brave girl struggling to find her place and acceptance between the human and computer worlds.

Julia Crane Bio=
Julia Crane is the author of the Coexist: Keegan’s
Chronicles. She has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. Julia has believed
in magical creatures since the day her grandmother first told her an Irish
tale. Growing up her mother greatly encouraged reading and using your
imagination. Although she’s spent most of her life on the US east coast, she
currently lives in Dubai with her husband and three children.
*Here is an interview
you can choose up to 3 questions from. This is not required, however if you
would like to add them in please do not hesitate. Also please try not to use
the same questions and answers from the person right before you (if you can
help it).*
Q) As a child, what did you want
to do when you grew up?
A)
Everything! Most of my career ideas I got from books—of course. One week
I was going to be a private detective, the next a spy, psychologist, FBI agent,
zoo keeper, and author to name a few.
Q) What inspired you to write
your first book?
A) Free time. When we moved to Dubai, I
went from working full time owning a gym to twiddling my thumbs. I thought I
should try to write that novel I always wanted to. Three months later I
finished Coexist.
Q) Where do you get your
information or ideas for your books?
A)
I do some research, but mainly I just go where my mind takes me. Ideas
come out of nowhere it seems. Like for Freak of Nature, I saw my daughter
making a cyborg image on photoshop and I though I’ve got to write a book about
a cyborg.
Q) What was one of the most
surprising things you learned in creating any of your books?
A) How the story seems to
magically appear before your eyes. I never really know where the story is going
to go, and then I’ll be washing dishes or taking a walk and think that’s it!
And start writing.
Q) What would you say is your
interesting writing quirk?
A)
I walk around my house in circles when I get stuck. Usually my three
year old is following me around giggling.
Q) Is there a message in your
novel/novels that you want readers to grasp?
A) I don’t think of that when I
write. I’ve always believe that any book opened there is at least once sentence
written for the reader. I hope there is something that makes my readers think
about it later even if it’s just one line that reached them.
Q) What books have most
influenced your life most?
A) That’s always a hard
question. I’ve been an avid reader for as long as I can recall. As a teenager
my walls were bookcases filled with books. My friends couldn’t believe I’d
actually read them all. I really loved Nancy Drew as a child. She started my
love for series. As far as influenced my life... I love Ayn Rand she makes me
think about myself and society.
Q) If you had to do it all over
again, would you change anything in any of your books?
A) Someday I would like to go back and rewrite Keegan’s Chronicles. My
writing has grown since then, but I also think it’s important to move forward
so we’ll see.
Q) Do you recall how your
interest in writing originated?
A) Reading. I started with poetry and short stories when I was about
thirteen.
Q) What was the hardest part of
writing your books?
A) Editing/Rewriting.
Q) Do you have anything specific
that you want to say to your readers?
A) Thank you! Seriously, I never dreamed
I would have fans, or receive emails from readers telling me how much they
loved my books. It’s an amazing feeling to get a letter from a fan. Leaves me
smiling for days.
Q) What were the challenges
(research, literary, psychological, and logistical) in bringing your characters
to life?
A) I can’t think that deeply into
writing if I did it would freeze me up. I’ve gotten to know a lot of different
personalities over my lifetime and I draw from that. I’ve also been lucky
enough to travel extensively so I think that helps.
Q) What are you working on now?
A)
I’m really excited, because I just started Rourk. A continuation of
Keegan’s Chronicles. Rourk will be deeper and darker.
Q) Who is your favourite
hero/heroine/character from your own books? What about of all time?
A)
That’s a hard one. Right now it’s a tossup between Rourk and Kaitlyn. Of
all time, goodness, I would have to say Dagny from Atlas Shrugged. Her
character has always stuck with me and I’ve read the book at least three times.
Q) If you could have take one of
your book boyfriends out on a date in the real world, who would it be &
where would you go?
A)
I would say Rourk, but he’s far too young for me, so Keegan’s Father
Richard. A lot of his characteristics resemble my husbands. Ideal date would be
a long weekend somewhere I’ve never been and a lot of time outdoors. No kids!
Please feel free to add in any FAQ that
people are dying for the answers to. We would love to share it around :)
