Heather Hildenbrand Guest Post

When Nikki and I discussed what sort of post for me to write, she said, “a post about Blood Bond, and what’s happening with you, and what’s coming.” So, I thought I’d do exactly those things, and treat this post as a sort of up-to-the-minute-check-in.

First, Blood Bond. It’s out on 8/31 wherever e-books are sold and I, for one, cannot wait! Mostly because I’m always excited to share my newest story with you guys. But also, this time, it’s because I am so ready to be DONE with this one. Blood Bond held some serious growing pains for me these past couple of weeks. Revisions were tough. Not because the story was a mess but because I started wondering if it would be better if the plot went a different directon. Yeah, I know. Kind of late in the game to be changing stuff like that, with release day looming so close. I’m sure you can understand why I was freaking out. Anyway, I rewrote a bunch of stuff, only to decide it was way better the original way I had it. So after days and days of rewrites, I reverted to the original draft. HA! Talk about wanting to bang my head against a wall! GAH!

But, I am glad I went through it. (I can say that now that I’m out the other side.) It gave me more confidence in my story and now I know FOR SURE that this is the best possible story I could give you. It’s a good feeling.

So, that’s my Blood Bond update.

As for “right now,” I’m actually getting packed up to take a last-minute road-trip down to Georgia to hang with  my sister for the long weekend. I hadn’t planned to, since it means being on vacation at the exact time my new book releases. (In case you were wondering, book releases are the craziest time for authors! Busy, busy, busy!) But she recently had a baby girl, Grace and for the second time in two weeks, Grace is in the hospital with gastrointestinal “stuff.” She had major surgery a couple of weeks ago and is sick again and well, book release or not, I want to be there.

Which leads me to my whole point of this post. About my last-minute trip AND the last-minute changes to my book – I LOVE BEING INDIE! I love being an author, as well, but specifically, indie. Because it’s given me the freedom to be in charge of my own work and the product I put out there AND it allows me to oversee my new book release from another state at the very last minute. And also, I love bloggers. Especially my street team, the Hotshots. (This means you, Nikki! <3 u!!) With the Hotshots on my blog tour, I’ve been able to set up everything ahead of time and know it will all run smoothly so that I can focus my time this weekend on family. I love that I can have both at the same time. This job is great!

As for what’s coming, I’ve got a project in the works that I should be able to reveal very soon. Look for an announcement sometime in September. I’m really excited about it and really believe in the story idea. I can’t wait to tell you more, but for now, I’m sworn to secrecy. (Hint: it *might* have certain fanged creatures in it.) After the project wraps, and after the craziness of Blood Bond’s tour subsides (the tour lasts the entire month of September and includes live web chats and radio shows) then I can plan my next project. It might be book 4 in the Dirty Blood series or I might wait on that and work on something else I’ve been messing around with in my head for a while. It’s a contemporary romance with *gasp* no paranormal. I know, don’t have a heart attack. ;)

Nikki, thanks for having me and I hope everyone enjoys the next installment for Tara, Wes, and Alex. I’d love to hear what you all think! XOXO

Heather Hildenbrand was born and raised in a small town in northern Virginia where she was homeschooled through high school. She now lives in coastal VA, a few miles from the Atlantic Ocean, with her husband and two adorable children. She works from home, part time, as a property manager and when she's not furiously pounding at the keyboard, or staring off into space whilst plotting a new story, she's helping her husband with DIY projects in their home (he woodworks - she paints) or she's lying on the beach, soaking in those delicious, pre-cancerous rays.

Heather loves Mexican food, hates socks with sandals, and if her house was on fire, the one thing she'd grab is her DVR player.

If I had to choose one word to sum up all of my problems, this would be it.
Without hybrids, I wouldn’t have to watch my best friend slowly becoming a monster. Without hybrids, I could let go of the mentality “hunt or be hunted.” CHAS wouldn’t be scouring the Earth, intent on slaughtering and using Alex to do it. Without hybrids, I wouldn’t have to be on guard that losing my temper meant losing my shape. There would be no monster inside me, struggling to get out.

Then again, without hybrids, I wouldn’t have Wesley St. John

Review-This book was amazing sometime when you are, into a series you get tired of reading and sometime the Author, get off track with the, Characters, but in blue bond it never is  boring and the characters don't change too much to where you feel like your reading a different book .A fantastic story.  I love the way story unfold and a love that never dies and a strong attraction. i feel like I'm in the story I can relate to the characters ,it keep you on the edage of your sit or bed you won't want it to end.. It how every thing you need in a story action romance, fighting. Now the book not out yet i can go on and tell what happend but no spoilers... I am so happy Heather has given me opportunity to read her beautiful writing, Enjoy!
